The YUDW officially launched its design of an office building at 105 Water Street in West Haven's West River Crossing district today, in a press conference on site in West Haven. Speakers included West Haven Mayor John Picard, Representative DeLauro. and Senators Lieberman and Blumenthal. An RFP for developers will be going out for the project before the end of the month.

Today, YUDW Project Manager Andrei Harwell will present his paper, "The Jordan River Peace Park: An Infrastructure for Shared Regional Heritage" at the Why Does the Past Matter? international conference organized by the University of Massachusettes Amhearst Center for Heritage and Society.
Fall 2010
The YUDW has been awarded an “Access to Excellence in Design: Stewardship” grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to develop a conceptual design for a Naugatuck Valley Industrial Heritage Trail. The project will look at the reuse and interpretation of former industrial sites along the Brass Valley in a coordinated regional master plan that will encourage tourism and preservation of Connecticut’s industrial heritage.

The YUDW continues to work on the New Britain Neighborhood Plan [hyperlink], now in collaboration with TEN Arquitectos.
In May, the YUDW will lead a team of Yale faculty and students into the Jordan River Valley to conduct an international design Charette for environmental group Friends of the Earth Middle East. The Charette will bring together architects and designers from Jordan, Israel, and Palestine to study a large site for a Peace Park.

Along with the New Haven based Capstan Group, the YUDW has been selected to prepare a neighborhood plan for the West End neighborhood of Bristol, CT.
