| Configure Microsoft Outlook For Yale Email: | |
Microsoft Outlook is an
email client installed on all workstations in the School of Architecture. It
can be configured to check your Yale email account. |

| Configure Microsoft Outlook To Check Your Yale Email: | |
| Step One: Launch Microsoft Outlook. Select Start - Programs - Documentation - Microsoft Outlook. The first time Microsoft Outlook is opened, the Startup window will be displayed. Click Next to continue. *If the Startup window does not display, select Email Accounts from the Tools menu in Outlook.

| Step Two: Select Yes to configure an email account. Click Next to continue. |

| Step Three: Select IMAP for the server type. Click Next to continue. |

| Step Four: Enter the following information: Your Name: Enter
your name as you would like it to be displayed in messages. Incoming
Mail Server (IMAP): NetID.mail.yale.edu User Name: Enter
your NetID Do not check off 'Remember Password' or 'Log on using Secure Password Authentification (SPA)'. Click Next to continue. |

Step Five: Click Finish to continue. |

| Use Outlook To Check Your Yale Email: | |
Step Six: In Outlook, select Folder
List from the View menu. |

Step Seven: Click the + next to NetID.mail.yale.edu in the folder list. The Internet Email window will appear. Type in your password, select OK. |

Step Eight: The Inbox item directly below NetID.mail.yale.edu is your Yale email inbox.
Important Note: The Outlook inbox is synchronized with the email server. Anything deleted from the Inbox will also be deleted from your Yale email inbox. It is not advised to file items within Outlook Today (Personal Folders). These folders are stored locally on the computer. Moving any messages from your Yale inbox to the Personal Folders will delete the messages from your Yale email. Personal folders will be deleted from the computer if the worktation is re-imaged or temp files are deleted. The Digital Media staff is not responsible for deleted email messages. |
