Step One: Scan your object. How to scan an object (HTML) |

Step Two: In Geomagic, Select your scan. Select Points>Wrap This coverts your point cloud scan into a ploygom mesh. |

Step Three: Often your scan will have too many polygons and the 3D modeling program will not be able to import the mesh file. You will need to reduce the number of polygons. to do this in Geomagic, seclect Polygons>Decimate In the decimate window set your Target Triangle Count. In this case I set it to 9,000. You will need to expiriment with what your thing is an approiate triangel count. Click Apply and then if everything looks fine, click on OK. |

Step Four: Save your model. Select "File>Save As", and Save your model as a STL, or DXF file format. |
