This course introduces students to the fundamentals of drawing architectural subjects by hand. Students will complete graphic assignments using traditional techniques, with an emphasis on watercolor on pencil. They will acquire an understanding of the basic geometry that regulates architectural compositions through a series of projects that include freehand drawing and rigorous measured drawing of buildings and their details in orthogonal projection, axonometric, and perspective. Assignments are designed to enhance the student ability to observe, analyze, understand and represent architectural forms. (Required in M.Arch. I first term.)
