Born in Edinburgh in 1961, Andy Bow has worked in Architectural practice for over 30 years and joined Foster + Partners in May 1996. By May 2001 he was appointed to be a full time board Director and is now one of thirteen Senior Partners in the 1000 strong practice.
He is currently working on projects with a group of over two hundred designers for Towers, Stadia, Mixed Use Masterplan’s and Airports in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
He studied Architecture at the Mackintosh School of Architecture where as a student he won over twenty awards including the GSA Newberry Medal and the City Of Glasgow silver medal in architecture.
Alongside his office career he has devoted significant time to teaching. He has lectured and been a critic at over thirty schools of architecture around the world, was a visiting Professor at Aarhus in Denmark in 2008, been an RIBA external examiner at the Bartlett University College London for the last ten years, judged the RIBA student medals in 2000 and was a visiting critic at Yale in May 2007.
