My house goes on forever
Project Description
“My house goes on forever” discusses the layers and boundaries in belonging somewhere and creating a home. Within Bangkok, the city at large exists simultaneously with everyday domesticity. Through this layering, the duality of Bangkok emerges and the clear definitions where one space starts or ends is blurred. In the case of the home, this “boundary” is delineated by objects of belonging and the interventions organized by the resident–what comes or goes, what is precious or disposable begins to indicate the overlapping extents of home. This malleable boundary is a reflection of the spirit of collectivism and inherent trust of a community by extending a “home” outside physical boundaries, which create blurriness between edges, if there are any at all.
