Safety Information

Do not leave this machine unattended while cutting for ANY reason.

Workholding: Use the vacuum table. You cannot hold down a workpiece with your hands or weights. The machine’s sensors will stop the gantry from moving if objects thicker than a workpiece are present. There should be no need for tape to hold down your material. Pieces of tape left behind can inhibit the vacuum’s ability to hold workpieces. If the vacuum isn’t holding your piece on its own, seek help from the AT staff.

Don’t sit, lean, stand, or leave heavy objects on the table. Bending the table, even slightly, can make it impossible to cut properly in the deformed area.

Don’t use this machine as a work surface. It must be available for use as a CNC tool at all times. Cutting on the mat with any tool other than the built-in knife can damage the cutting mat and possibly render the machine unusable until it is replaced.

Make sure that you have the correct knife or pen installed for your work. If the device is telling you it needs a different kind of equipment to be installed, contact the AT office. Do not attempt to cut with an improper tool.
