The Schools file server has a built in file recovery system. You can recover files and folders that have been deleted and you can recover past version for files that have changed. Typically you can retrieve these files for up to 8 days back. Beyond 8 days the files are permanently gone.

Step 1

If you have deleted a file or folder, right click on the folder or share that contained the file or folder that was deleted. Choose “Restore Previous Version

From the window that pops up, choose the date of the folder that you want to recover from. A new explorer window will appear with a snapshot of that day’s files and folders.

Choose the folder or file that you need and drag and drop (or cut and paste) it back into the current folder where it was deleted.
